Resource Protected Area (RPA) - KNOW that you cannot just cut down a tree if you want on your property. View the RPA for your area. If the tree is in the RPA, you could be fined VERY hefty fines (sometimes to thetune of $10,000 plus replanting a tree)

Be aware of the risk of chain saw injury during tree removal. Use a chain saw safely to clear debris. If a tree has hit your home, call your property insurance company before starting the removal process.
In all cases, stay away from downed wires near downed trees. Electricity can travel through tree limbs. Never remove tree limbs or other items that are touching or are near a downed wire.
